It’s the perfect opportunity to try new wines, test your blind tasting skills, and maybe earn some bragging rights by walking away with a brand new Coravin wine preservation system.

An evening with … is Monopole’s wine dinner series and brainchild of  Sommelier Nick Hildebrandt. Nick says this format will allow guests “to get up close and personal with a winemaker or key industry figure who has an interesting background and is doing something that we respect and admire.” People should bring an open mind and an adventurous palate for this fun and relaxed dinner.

This is an opportunity to taste some of the most sought after and rare wines in the world, produced by this Jura originalist, alongside the legendary wine importer Andrew Guard. 

For the next instalment of Monopole’s An Evening With…guests will be transported to the Côtes du Jura, to sample the super rare wines of cult Jura producer Jean-François Ganevat.

La Combe; a tiny hamlet above the village of Rotalier is home to the larger-than-life “Fan Fan” Jean-François Ganevat. Jean-François came back to run the family estate in 1998, after ten years working in Burgundy and he combines his passion for the Jura terroir with a staunch defence of Burgundian techniques.

Our host for the evening Andrew Guard, says “I never cease to be fascinated by the wines from France’s Jura region. This small winemaking area located to the east of Burgundy is home to some of the most remarkable and unique wines being made anywhere in the world.”

Guests will have the opportunity to sample some of the hottest wines in the world right now, alongside a specially created Jura inspired menu. We will be opening the top cuvee “Vignes de Mon Pere” and including some from Magnum.

Our Reservation Policy

Monopole accepts limited bookings. We book up to half of the restaurant and leave the rest for walk ins.

For bookings of 6 or more we require credit card details to secure the reservation. If you fail to arrive for your booking or cancel less than 48 hours prior to your reservation a cancellation fee may apply.

Groups of 8 or more are required to select our $90 set “Monopole menu”. For tables booked at 6:00 to 6:30 pm there is a 2 hour dining time.
