In 2016, Embla took out Timeout Melbourne’s ‘Best New Restaurant’ and ‘Best Casual Dining Restaurant’ awards. Sitting pretty at #6 on the AFR Top 100 Restaurants list, The Australian likened their chefs to “bushrangers at work in the kitchen”. New Zealand Executive Chef Dave Verheul has travelled the world and back, through the swinging doors of The Savoy Grill, The Fat Duck, The Bentley and the Matterhorn, honing his classic training in the process.
