The Good Food Guide Awards for 2019 were held on Monday evening at Crown Casino in Melbourne. Monopole was awarded two of the highly coveted hats.

GQ ‘Sydney’s Best Bars’
GQ have released their list of ‘Sydney’s Best Bars’.
Said of Monopole; “A 500-strong wine list by one of Australia’s best sommeliers and a snack menu by one of Australia’s best chefs. Yep, the boys behind The Bentley have gifted Sydney a dark, moody, energetic wine bar like no other. Drop in en route to dinner, or settle in for an all-nighter. It’s the gas.”

Great news to share with our Co-owner Brent Savage winning the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2015 ‘Chef of the Year’. Congratulations Captain! Monopole was also awarded 1 Chefs Hat at the awards night on September 1. Very happy.

NICK HILDEBRANDT ‘SOMMELIER OF THE YEAR’
Monopole’s Co-Owner & Sommelier Nick Hildebrandt was awarded the ‘Sommelier of the Year’ gong at the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards on August 20, 2014. This is Nick’s third Sommelier Award. He has won it twice at the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards, and now this fantastic national recognition from the Australian Gourmet Traveller.
